A. How to open an Unbreakable ID account (UbID)

1. General Information

1.1 What is an Unbreakable Identity?

The self-managed digital identity guarantees a solid, reliable, legitimate, secure digital identity that is not subject to unauthorized modifications. It has a user profile associated with it in a secure and efficient way. It can integrate a strong proof of identity to verify the identity of the applicant. Provides a secure process to authenticate users in applications. The authenticated user delegates security and permissions to the client application easily.

1.2 Benefits of the Unbreakable Identity technology

Unbreakable Identity (UbID) thanks to digital identity provider UbID.app facilitates enrollment and proof of identity, as well as recurring digital authentication, to easily integrate with software applications using the OpenID Connect standard, with many other advantages and benefits.

2. Manage my account

A user is required to take responsibility for managing an account that provides digital identities to the web application(s). This user has to use the Unbreakable Identity to create the account, and their data is stored in their Decentralized Identifier Document (DID). In the end, the responsibility for the Unbreakable Identity account lies with the user, as he/she is the owner or proprietor of this digital asset. It is a cryptographic digital asset, which no one else the owner can change and use. That’s why you have to take care of it!

2.1 New user? Sign up

To register as a new user, you must click on “New user? Sign up”. If this option does not appear, you should contact the administrator, since the registration of new users may have been disabled.

A screen like the one shown below will be displayed, to continue with the process you must press the “Press here to start” button.

If you have not yet installed the security device (wallet), you will be prompted to install it. This security wallet is the one that allows you to cryptographically own your digital identity. The phrases that are generated by the wallet must be securely recorded, hopefully outside the computer or phone, and stored securely, and obviously can be retrieved when required, which generally should not be too often. No one other than the user should have access to these keys. They are the way to retrieve a wallet, change passwords, register services, among many others. Generally, these should be done in a single, secure location.

Once installed, you must proceed to connect

If you have not yet generated a security account, you must click on “+ Generate new account”, and then on the account that says “Account1”.

The system indicates that it is connected to the security wallet.

Enter a username, for example jsmith or johnsmith, etc…

The domain (in this example case: test.app) is determined and cannot be changed.

The system will tell you if the username is available or not.

You must then press the “Registration” button to proceed to the next step in registration. This action will link the chosen name to the corresponding domain and immutably register its ownership to the specified account in the security wallet.

If you want to continue with the registration, you must press the “Accept” button

And then the “Next” button

You must enter the password and your email, and then press the “Register” button to continue the process

To continue you must press the “Accept” button

The security system will display the cryptographic signature, you must press the “Sign” button

The security system will display the basic data of the new account, data being currently stored in the Decentralized Identifier Document (DID), you must click on the “Update” button

Optionally you can complete your profile data. You can complete them later with the option “Are you already a user? Modify your profile information”.

Profile data (optional) is:

• Your photo (avatar)
• Names and surnames
• A brief description of you
• Address of some social networks
• Telephone and postal address
• PIN

2.2 Have you forgotten your password?

If you do not remember your password, you can change it by clicking on the “Have you forgotten your password?” button.

You will be asked to connect to the security wallet, you must press the “Connect” button

You must click on your username.

You must enter the password and your email, and then press the “Register” button to continue the process

To continue you must press the “Accept” button

To continue you must press the “Sign” button

To continue you must press the “Update” button

And voila, you now have your new password.

2.3 Modify your profile data

To enter/modify optional profile data you must enter your username and password and then press the button “Are you already a user? Modify your profile data”

You must connect to the wallet (acts as a security device) by pressing the “Connect” button

You must select the username that matches the username entered on screen.

Once connected to the security device, a menu will be displayed with profile data that you can optionally enter/modify. These optional data are:

• Your photo (avatar)
• Names and surnames
• A brief description of you
• Address of some social networks
• Telephone and postal address
• PIN

It is a way that allows the user to certify that this profile data has been provided by himself, and has not been supplanted or modified by third parties.

It is possible to indicate the addresses of the social networks to which you are subscribed.
